GPTDM: Bad Weather

Of course, you're stuck at home when it happens. Why would you have been anywhere else? This wind, rain, and/or snow was nearly impossible to get through like this. It was only a matter of time before it took out the power.

May we interest you in any of the following activities to ward off your boredom?

  • Board games, card games (ranging from Uno and Go Fish to Poker)

  • The kind of deep, soul-searching conversations that typically only happen during long road trips

  • Truth or dare, spin the bottle, or 7 minutes in heaven

  • Crafts, should you have the materials. Pro tip: you already have the materials for a pillow fort

  • Creative endeavors, such as painting, reading, writing, etc.

  • Clean the house for once, for God's sake

In the public housing community center:

[Johnny was watching television when the power goes out, but not entirely with his full attention; mind mostly wandering on the waves of the kind of modest high one might partake in on a day without much else better to do. This is technically not something he needs to stop doing just because the television turned off, however...the television makes for better white noise than listening to his own tinnitus.

His head lolls to the side as he inhales slowly, dislodging it from its perch on the back of the couch, originally placed there by a level of slouch so legendary it could barely be considered sitting. He throws up his hands in a lazy shrug and shoves all the air out of his lungs in a forceful sigh.

Alright. Fine.

[They say that idle hands are the devil's playthings but you could swear you just heard the sound of wet ink on a binding contract to be said hands. Johnny pushes himself up onto his feet and goes for a straight shot towards the front door, aiming to plunge himself into the raging storm.

Intervene or simply stick around and find out how the world burns today? Both are valid answers here.
